Remove ALL file types from index

Is there a way I can quickly remove ALL of the file types from the
index, so I can set it to only index applications (.exe)?

hi gents,
after vista sp1, a very strange situation has been occured in windows
explorer in vista hp:
the root folder of my external hdd (wd mybook 500gb connected with usb
2.0) looks awful! there are big folder icons but no titles under each of
them.

I'm finding the new windows explorer cumbersome
When I click on the quick launch icon I get a view that's dificult to
navigate
I wish to see at the top of the list
Desktop
My Computer
My Documents
etc.
More like XP so I can get to my drives.

Migrating Raid 0 across installs

Here's what happened: I had a PC set up with a Raid 0 in vista that was
not the boot drive. I was using the Raid 0 array for video storage and
high speed large file access. I have all the files backed up, no
worries there, I wanted the speed and didn't care about data redundancy.
I would rather games load faster ...

converter. after i installed the program, i went to "start" -> "all programs,
" i see this "programs" folder. I clicked on that, all it shows is the list

Shortcut broken after moving file

If I create a shortcut to a file and then subsequently move the file,
the shortcut no longer works (error message: "The item ... that this
shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no
longer work properly.") When I do this on my XP-Pro machine, XP will
generally find the moved file and upd ...

Cannot delete a file saved to my desktop

A file was saved to my Vista desktop. It is a small drawing file
(.dwg). About 102 KB in size. I can open it. However, I cannot delte
it, copy it, or cut it. If I try to delete it, window pops up and says
"RECYCLING 1 item". It churns and churns and churns. Nothing ever
happens.
I can rename it. Doesn't ...

where is IE7's Address box history

I've noticed that the history that one sees in IE7 by clicking on the
dropdown arrow of the address box is not the same as what one gets when
looking at the history in the Favorites center, i.e. the pane that runs down
the left side of the IE window.

file copy/move "more information" shown as default

Greetings,
It seems that every time I copy or move some files I have to click the
"more information" button on the copy window. This is the small chevron
which is pointing down. I like to see the speed of the file transfer
and get an idea of how much longer it will be.
