Recover hard drive files

Hi all;
I have a divx reader with hard disk connected by a wireless network to
my PC: while I was renaming some folders the network went down and the
folders become files, so now are unreadable.
Now, when I connect the network drive, in the left column I have 8
folders (instead of the 10 that I had before) and ...

Randomly changing window explorer view for each folder?

I want each folder to have a custom view. For general files, it's details
view with name, size, date modified.
However, sometimes this setting sticks, sometimes it changes to something
else with no ryhme or reason (e.g. sometimes it would be grouped by date,
with "date taken" column instead of date modified). ...

I have to make sure this drive will stop running when i turn my computer
on.
specifically i have to find
[boot]
drivers=wndrv16.dll
and delete that.

Missing security tab on folders

Yesterday I changed the security settings on the drive prefs and don't
really know what I did. I now cannot access 3 drives because the
security tab has disappeared. I know its not a sharing issue. Please
can someone tell me how to get the tab back. I have vist ultimate 64.

Making Win 7 Folder Structure More Visible

I just moved from XP to Win 7. I was in the process of transferring
custom.dic when I realized that the AppData folder did not appear under my
user name, but that's where I need to put the custom dictionary file. My
question is how to make all the folders appear in Win 7 so I can work with

pdf and vista

When accessing a link to a web site that has a pdf file, I click on the
link, a new window opens, and finally at the bottom of the window the work
done appears. Screen stays blank.
On another computer everything works well.
Both computers are vista and IE 8.
Is there some setting that would cause this ...
