I want to count the number of displays devices attached to the pc from
within a service. We need this to be able to check the status of the monitors
that are attached to the display cards. I use the EnumDisplayDevices function

reasterization of wmf/emf data looks terrible on vista

Hello,
I am using graphics.DrawImage() in the .Net 2.0 CLR to convert a wmf/emf
vector image to png. the data is actually a preview of a spreadsheet
embedded in a word document.
If I do this on vista, text output looks really blocky (as if it were
triple-bold or something) compared to how it looks on XP ...

I have a problem to draw a text within its window (in fact it is an own edit
box).
The window is on a view what user can zoom in and out.
To magnify or reduce objects size I use SetViewportExt() of CDC of the view.

windows GDI book recomendation

Hello, the only book about windows programming i have is the classical
Programming Windows 95 by Charlez Petzold.
Could anybody recommend a good book on windows GDI ( using windows API, not
MFC ) specifically , preferrably a recent one. Unfortunatelly Petzold never
released his one.
