failing creation VBScript RegExp component on W2k server

I've traced creation of VBScript RegExp failure
"m_spRegExp.CreateInstance( __uuidof(VBS_REGEX::RegExp) )" to this entry in
my system error log:
Method Name: IDispenserDriver::CreateResource
Process Name: MxDec.exe
The serious nature of this error has caused the process to terminate.
Exception: C000000 ...

ITextDocument and IStream

In the documentation for ITextDocument it states that you can pass an
IStream interface (object implementing an IStream interface) to the Open
method of ITextDocument instead of a filename. I cannot get this to work. It
always returns an Invalid Arguments error.
Nor can I get it to Save back to a Stream obj ...

Maybe this is not the right NG, and I apologize, but I am really really
desperate
and looking for help everywhere...
I have weird problem: My program uses free threaded COM. Once in a while
(depending on routines I call) I instantiate ADO, use it and release.
Everything works fine on XP ...

ICreateTypeInfo2.SetCustData

I create TLB file by interfaces ICreateTypeLib, ICreateTypLib2,
ICreateTypeINfo, ICreateTypeInfo2.
I get an error "Element no found" by calling ICreateTypeInfo2.SetCustData,
thought ICreateTypeLib2.SetCustData goes successfully.
What's wrong ?

I followed this description

get it to work.
If I try to WSCript.CreateObject for my application, it starts fine but
the CreateObject call never returns. Examining threads of the app,
there's one in the message loop, which is expected.
