WinXP Pro refuses to recognize audio devices

For almost a year, my WinXP-Pro tower has refused to recognize any audio
devices. The board-resident device stopped working spontaneously. Some time
later I installed a cheapo Dynex card just to get things going again. No
joy. I note that both the onboard audio device and the Dynex card report no

Unknown Internet connection traffic

I am using a GPRS connection 115.2 kbps.
I have allowed Microsoft Automatic Updating to download some of the latest
updates (the size of updates I chose was about 4mb). My internet connection
shows I have received 17mb so far. I assume it is Window's automatic

Setup Guest User Account on Vista

Will be sending my laptop out for repairs...
I have set up a Guest Account but the Guest can still execute Excel, Word
and other programs that allow them to view my personal data...I want to
restrict the Guest from viewing any sensitive data of mine.
How do I do that?
