DOS For Loop - Octal conversion issue in tokens keyword

There is a conversion issue in the DOS For Loop handling of the tokens
function. If you enter the following command, it will work for 01,02,03 etc.
but not for 08
and 09 (due to octal conversion). 10,11,12 etc. work. This makes usage of

Generating Random Filenames in DOS

Random file names (ex. for temporary files) can be generated in DOS using
commands like the following
@echo off
REM normalize the hour to 2 digits
set HH=%time:~0,2%
if "%HH:~0,1%"==" " set HH=0%time:~1,1%
REM generate formatted time string HHMMSS
@echo %HH%%time:~3,2%%time:~6,2%

Problems Copying/Pasting File

We are trying to copy & paste a file directory, however when it attempts to
paste a particular file we receive the message: Cannot Copy file. Cannot
read from source file or disk.
The file is a hidden file titled: ._SRX60
I tried to unhide the file by changing the attribute using: attrib -h
._SRX60 - it say ...
