PC Shortcuts do not work on mac

Hi I'm using a MacG5 OSX 10.3.8 at work, connected to an otherwise all pc
network. Our file organization calls for placing shortcuts to various
folders in a central location. The shortcuts placed there by others on PC
do not work for me on the mac. Instead the file shows as a document ending
in .lnk, and when ...
