Ok, I stumbled upon the Flip4Mac Windows Media Quicktime plugin 2.0
today on the MS site (curiously enough, it's not listed on Mactopia.com
though)...Massive props to the MS folks for realizing the value of
Flip4Mac's product and acknowledging that many Mac users WANT to play

Can't detect window media player when I do have one

Hi hi!
Anyone encountered such a problem? I certainly have downloaded the
latest window media player. But whenever I click a media file that's
of wmv format, it often says that they can't detect an appropriate
player (referring to the window media player). I am then directed to

tried clearing WMP cache, now reinstalled WMP won't work

Hi all. I wanted to clear the "recently played" cache in WMP, and followed
the advice of one of the posters here, who suggested that in order to clear
it, you needed to trash the "preferences" or "favorites" file for WMP. I did
that, and then reinstalled WMP, but now when I try to play something using
WMP, ...

I live in the U.S. and am trying to access Italian Language iideo
programming from Italy: news, weather, etc.
When I search inside Windows Media Player, I only find "feeds" in
English about Italy.
Anyone know how to tap into such programs via Windows Media Player?

I've gone to Mactopia and attempted to download WMP 9 for Mac. When
trying to open the Windows Media .sitx (which appeared on the desktop
after download), I get the following message:
"Unable to read the dictionary of the application or extension because
