New workbook won't open in normal view

When ever I create a new workbook in Excel (Office 2004), it always
comes up in Page Layout view. I cannot find a way to tell Excel to
always open a new workbook in Normal view.
Can someone help me? I'm sure it's an easy solution but I can't seem to
find it. ...
