Playing AVI files in Media Center

I torrented an AVI video file the other day and tried to stream to Media
Center on my Xbox360 and it kept giving me a disk error. Then i put the file
on a cd and Xbox would recognize the file as playable. It completely fine on
my computer in Media Player. any idea what's up? i thought that at the end

Ok i know the Xbox 360 is fun and im not dissing it but dont you think its
kind low tech? honestly all it is an updated Xbox with free xbox live and
its missing two buttons on the controllers. personally i like the Wii
