IE Stopped Working

I can't access the zone to play bridge because my Internet Explorer suddenly
stopped working. Everything else on my system works perfectly, except IE.
Firefox and Outlook are fine, but any site I try with IE gives me this

zone friends shows me as offline

I'm having issues with the Zone Friends. It always shows me as offline and
obviously is not working properly. I also see I am not the only person
experiencing this, and I cannot help but wonder why no one is making an
attempt to remedy the situation.

Zone freinds usually off-line

What's the deal with Zone Friends over the last 2 weeks? There is only
about a 25% chance that it will load. (The window opens, it says that I'm
logged on but status is (Offline) and no list appears.
Do they know it isn't working? Do they care ?

My friend's list doesn't come up when I play bridge

My mom plays bridge and her friend's list use to come up automatically
when she played bridge. Now it doesn't come up. I read the instructions
about this problem and it says to click on the Z on the task bar next
to the time, but she doesn't have a Z to click on next to the clock.
