broke my halo cd can i still play?

I am having a problem with Halo (PC)
When I start it up every thing runs fine, but when I go to another screen
the game acts like I am holding down the right error. I have unplugged my
mouse and keyboard, and even reinstalled the game, any ideas of what is

I have a big problem running aoe2, i can get the game to install , no
problems . the problem lies when i go to start it . double click on the icon
as normal and i get the "starting to load " screen as normal ,but thats the
end of it . all that happens is that screen lasts for a while and i get the

What is the program doing at startup that it needs the CD inserted? I
thought I had installed it completely but it won't play without it.
Is it just playing the videos from the CD? Can I work around it so I
don't have to carry my CD with m ...
