VS 2008 beta can't find alink.dll

All my project builds on my Vista machine now fail with:
Error 1 Required file 'alink.dll with IAlink3' could not be found
Re-installing VS 2008 beta did not cure this.
Where should alink.dll be and where can I get it?

web reference not being seen

In both VS2005 and 2008 I have added a web reference. On importing into the
code behind the methods in there are not available. It's as if doesn't exist
in the project. It is where I am pointing to it.
Anyone ever seen this type behavior before?
