Activation After Installing Vista Service Pack 1

Hi
I recently installed Vista on a HP laptop and i activated vista succesfully,
however after i installed Service Pack 1, Vista is deactivated and is not
activating it again with the original license that came with it, i had to
unistall Service Pack in order to leave vista activated, what do i need to do

I am trying to install SP2. The Microsoft website "Download SP2" takes me to
a place that checks my computer for updates needed. I've done this a couple
of times choosing both "Express" and "Custom" install. It says it's
downloading 65 updates and then I restart my computer when told. My Computer

error 5: access is denied when installing sp2 on XP Pro

I have been trying to install sp2 on XP Pro and keep getting access is denied
failure. I recently reformatted my hd and used my factory restore disk to
reinstall xp. I have tried to reset the permissions in the registry with no
luck. Here is what the setupapi.log says:

Question about the Service Pack 2

When I upgrade my computer the the service pack 2, will I lose things such as
documents, pictures or downloaded files? What is the probability of me losing
such items? I know when I last tried to update it, I canceled it because I
was unsure of what would happen, so if anyone could help me, I'd be grateful.

XP SP2 Installation Failed !

I have downloaded the SP2, and start to proceed the installation, suddenly in
the middle of that process, its stop and shows the "..SP2 was not
installed...". I also have the downloaded file and ended with the same
result. What should I do ?
