SP2 - Can't download and install

Hi all,
I have just re-installed XP and am trying to upgrade to Sp2.
I click on the install button and it brings the license agreement window up.
I agree to the license thing and it brings another window up saying "updates
not installed: service pack 2".
Not very handy!! I've tried it several times and ...

When I go to Microsoft's page and install the Service Pack 2 I get a problem
- when the machine is re-booted (as requested) it displays the Windows XP
screen with the now blue progress bar going fomr left to right. After a few
seconds of this my machine re-boots and continues to do this until I switch
it off ...

Visual Studio 2005 SP1 Breaks Smart Tab Handling

When you use tabs instead of spaces (our company standard), SP1 adds extra
spaces after the indent.
There are a couple of reports related to this; here's one:

Cannot logon after installing RC1 Vista Service Pack

After successfully installing the RC1 Vista sevice pack, when it came to
logon to my account, I was hit with this message.....
The Group Policy Client service failed the logon
Invalid access to memory location
Is there a solution for us sorry vista users? ...
