TFS Merge

First off sorry this is probably posted in the wrong spot but I didn't see a
TFS newsgroup.
I am using TFS 2008 and VS 2008 as my server/client software. I branched
from main and made some changes to code. I am now trying to merge the branch
back into main. When I do so it tells me there are no changes. ...

We use Team Foundation Server as source control. After I checked in some
code, there is a pop up message: Object reference not set to an instance of
an object.
