IIS V5.1 on XP Pro

Hi:
Here is my problem:
I sucessfully installed IIS 5.1 on my XP PRO laptop Default Web Site and
default options and I tried to test by usual test: http://localhost.
- IE 6.0 & Avant Browser have returned the well known message Page not found
- HTTP 500 - Internal Server error
- FireFox 1.5 returned er ...

Win2003 - Can't view doc-files placed under the web directory

Hi there
After We moved our web stuff from a WinNT server to a Win2003 server it is
not possuble to view files such as doc and xls, if the file is placed under
the web directory.
Sample:
This one is not possible.

Server Variable LOGON_USER not on Win2003 server

On our NT server I use the Server Variable, LOGON_USER , to determ how much
the different users are allowed to view on our web pages.
Now We are going to run on Win2003 servers, and i have discovered that the
following Server variables is not available: AUTH_USER, LOGON_USER,

Is there a way we can maintain local stores of news discussions (like this
one) and mine them OLAP-ishly? Would a CC to a local virtual server work?
