IIS 5 web site with indexing up and running. Using the "Query Catalog"
feature on the indexing service, the search appears to work a treat. For
example, query the catalog on "Take Command" and the expected document is

Extra periods being added to characterization data

I have a 300 word characterization being displayed in my search
results. However the index server seems to be interpreting the list-
bullet character as a period.
So if the actual text in the document is:
*How can I get a roster for my class?

catalog corrupted

Hi all,
Indexing service on our windows 2003 server fails while creating a catalog
for almost 2 GB of data, pdf ifilter is installed. Which could be the causes
of the problem? Is it something related to hardware performances (eg: paging
file)?

Hello to all
I've my directory called Archive with 400k files (about 200gb of text
data), they are doc, pdf, html, xls, txt and rtf.
Pdf Ifilter is istalled.
When I ask via mmc to build the catalog, the indexing service works
for about 48 hours and when It finish I have a catalog of about 7
Gbyte.

Indexserver starts indexing of all indexed documents

Hello,
I have an indexserver with 109000 Word-Documents in his catalog. Every day
100 documents were added. But the index-service restarts indexing all
documents several times a day, not only the new documents.
