I just got started with indexing service, and i did get it to partially
work
But, for some reason i can't get it to index all the files there. I had
12 HTM files in the category to start with. Any newly created files
never get indexed. I am talking about HTM, HMTL and ASP files.

Custom properties in SQL search
Wed, 4 Jan 2006 16:01:02 -0800
I can't find a way to search using SQL, through properties that my iFilter
emits.
My property Nickname has GUID, name and friendly name (defined through
DefaultColumnFile), added to Primaty cache, all visible in the MMC. Using
MMC's Search Query Form (Win2k3Server), like "@nickname Joey" returns

Wed, 4 Jan 2006 15:40:02 -0800
I can search by custom-defined friendly names from MMC query form fine, but
not from an ASP page. For ASP IXSSQ search to work, I have to define column
and assign friendly name in the ASP file again, regardless of the fact that I
already defined the friendly name in the DefaultColumnFile. Is that expected

Adding a "shared" custom property as a meta tag and Office document property
3 Jan 2006 15:07:50 -0800
I'd like to set up a custom tag that I can use as a meta tag (in HTML
files) and as a property (in Office documents).
The research that I've done on this indicates that it is not (directly)
possible - if you create a custom tag in a document (e.g., "workgroup")
and use the same word as a meta tag name, two s ...

Accessing the word lists, finding the results within a document
3 Jan 2006 10:42:12 -0800
I'm looking into using Indexing Service for an application and was
wondering if there is anyway to access the word lists of the resulting
documents? That is, once I have performed a search, it would be nice
if for each result I could access the word list stored for that
document in the index. This would save ...

Can't use Explorer's Search when Index Service is on.
Fri, 30 Dec 2005 10:04:05 -0500
I wanted to use Index Service on my Windows 2000 server so I can use a
search page on the IIS to find documents on the server easier. Now none of
the computers can use the Windows Explorer search function to find files by
filename or parts of file name. As soon as I turn Index Service off on the
server, ...

Tue, 27 Dec 2005 11:24:17 -0500
I am using Windows 2003 Server with IIS and Index Service. All my web pages
at the top have the same header which has a form with an input box and
button labeled "Search" for a quick search feature. When the results return
the text "Search" from that button is the first word in all my search
results. Is ...

Hi all,

revamped intranet. We have a few searches going on, one that searches the
..asp portion of the site and ms indexing which just searches a few folders
on the c drive under wwwroot. All is working well (with ms indexing) with
