Indexing summary details not working.

I wish to index 10,000+ items on the server and use the windows xp desktop
search interface to quickly search the 10,000 + files on the server. How do I
tell the windows desktop pc to use the index service on the server. Currently
when I use the desktop search function it goes through each file seperately

Hello,
I've a folder with pdf files without extension, because only need the
file's name to reference on a webpage, and I want to index these files
with MS Index Server.
I installed de Adobe IFiler (5.0 and 6.0) but when I index de folder,
the index server still don't recongnize the pdf files without
