Custom IFilter::GetValue allowable types

When creating my own implementation of IFilter::GetValue in order to
retreive custom property values from my own file format, what types does the
indexing service allow? For some properties, I would like to return an
array of some sort (SAFEARRAY preferably). Does anybody know if this is

i'm stuck - is there a way how to use indexin service when searching network
shares?
For example I've got SERVER with SHARE foleder which is indexed as part of
INDEX with network share assigned.
Is there a simple way to use this remote index from workstation? Such as

So im trying to do a vector space query, where i want it to search the
contents of all files, and properties of only select files . The
problem i seem to be having is combining a vector query, with a regular
expression. The query looks something like this

A lot of info about registering IFilter for adobe reader stuff but no for
new file type.
