Index Server locking files

I am having the problem of my web app not starting because a file is getting
locked by the Index Server. My problem is just like what is described here.

asp search returns no results from a catalog

we have 2 catalog which we want to query. One catalog is the index on
the current website. The second is a catalog of the new website, plus
the directories listed in the catalog for the old site. If we run the

Abstracts not showing for PDF's

For some reason the abstract/characterization data is not showing for Adobe
PDF files although the files are being returned in the queries and the
abstracts seem to be showing up for the MS Office docs. Is there a seperate
setting or registry entry that will enable the abstract/characterization data

Is there a way to search for 2 separate phrases within a document?
For example, somthing like this...(but this format is invalid)

Abstract/Characterization now showing up in results

I have a problem with using Indexing Server,
When i search for 'adsl.dk' i find a lot of pages containg 'dk' but without
'adsl.' in front.
How do i tell the indexing server not to do that and only give me result
with 'adsl.dk' ?
This is the query:

Hi All,
After much time spent scratching my head as to why index server was not
returning all results matching my query I read this group and realised
I needed AllowEnumeration enabled to return ALL results (great little
feature that one... not).
The problem with this is of course that it adds 5-10 second ...

filters index the Title metadata for Office docs and PDF's ? For some
