Query Catalog of Indexing Service (Question about Query Dialect)

I'm indexing the contents of a folder with the Microsoft Indexing
Service which builds a catalog. For simplicification in that folder
are only *.txt-Files. With a simple ASP page I query the catalog,
means I can search for a specific textfile in which the searched
string can be found.

large pdf file often are not indexed

Hello to all
my sistem is able to index a large number of pdf file. i've already
istalled the pdf filter.
The only problem is when I try to index a large pdf file, for example
larger than 20 mb, it gets no indexed easyer, i need to rename it or
delete and past again in the directory that get indexed.

I'm attempting to salvage disc space on a Win2K Server C: partition. I
don't run any websites or services from this box other than Exchange, AD, and
Outlook Web Access. I disabled the indexing service as a test to see if it

When searching using Index Server in our ASP page, the RS("vpath") is
returned to be null ("") where it is supposed to be
/DOCS/PROSPECT/RPro/Jan/JanDoc.PDF.
So, in the result list, the following is there:

Dear all,
we have a problem searching our websites html-documents. The problem is,
that they all have the same layout around the content (we do not use
frames).
If i want to search with words being in the surrounding text (directory,
impressum, ...) i find all documents. Using includes ist not the solu ...

prevent inflection

A search for milking will by inflection also serarch for milk. The word
milk is on evry document since it is part of the companys name. How can
I prevent index server from doing inflection (without putting all
search words inside " ").
