accessing full text cat via ixsso

trying to figure this through, but no clear answers anywhere.
I've set up a full text catalog on the sql 2k server that runs the site,
and want to query it via the ixsso.query object.
what is the basic sql syntax for this, as the sql server is on a different
server to the web site containing the query page ...

how to see what users are searching

Hello to all
in my web server as you know i run iis; the log file is in the w3c
format.
I'd like to see what people search.
in these log files, i can see what document they open as a result of
query but I cannot see what the type in the search box;
i can read that they post all the time my idq file and after ...

Is there something like a thesaurs for indexing server?
I am trying to find a solution for words that have the same meaning!
for example if I write the query house I want also documents with the
word home to be returned!
any ideas how to do that?

Hello to all
as a test I configured a pc with win xp professional with iis
istalled.
I edited the noise file and deleted everything, and I asked to build
again the catalog; anyway when i query for words that i deleted in the
noise file, for example for the letter ' a' or ' i ' it says:

I found two weird things on W2003Sp1 index service:
- created simple catalogue (one directory) and started it. I can see total
docs:6810, Docs to index: 15550. Is it indexing each document 2.5 times to
be sure :-O
- The catalogue did not work AT ALL when the directory had localized

IXSSO.Query - Ranking Formula???

I am writing a search engine that will search a database for matches,
using a specific ranking formula (the user is given the option of
weighing things like the title, meta data, body etc etc to affect the

Hi,
I have an Index Server software application running on NT 4.0. It uses the
infamous htmlprop.dll to manage dates.
I want to move this software to a windows 2003 server machine. Can I reuse
my old htmlprop.dll, or do I have to compile a new one from the sdk ?
I don't have any C/C++ tools so recompiling ...
