Relay and error notification

Hello all,
I have one question about the IIS SMTP service. Is the first SMTP
service in the transport chain informed about errors during delivery at
the end-point (e.g. mailbox full)? In this case this SMTP service is
configured to relay messages.
So if I configure a IIS SMTP service for relay, does this ...

I have a Server2003, IIS6 set up with SMTP to basically just allow email
through asp pages. I have the relay restricted to my internal dns server. I
have it set to log, but the log file is empty. Over the holiday weekend, I
(as webmaster) received about 6 emails informing me of the above messages.

I am still having problems sending emails to aol. I have Windows XP
Professional, IIS obviously, and use my own smpt server for outgoing email.
I am not using an smpt server with my dsl service. Most of my email works
just fine, but my clients and family that use aol are rejected. I get

Unknown Connections On SMTP Relay

Hi,
We're running an SMTP relay on our ISA 2004 firewall. Today I've noticed
there 3 connections keep being made, and only drop after the SMTP server
specified 10 minute timeout limit, once dropped the connection re-connect
almost instantly.
