setting up remote smtp in WinXP IIS

Hi y'all,
I got local smtp working, but as yet can't figure out how to configure the
remote part of it. As I understand it smtp looks for the smtp server that
the mail is to be delivered to via DNS? Can someone suggest a good site for
setting up smtp for Windows XP IIS?

Failing SMTP server instance in a W2K cluster

I built a fresh two server cluster for an internal web site. I also
installed SMTP for a e-mail alert relay. Everything else with the cluster
starts and fails over just fine, except the SMTP service, which does not even
start. I get the event log seen below.

properties the server stops recieving Email.

I am running Win 2003 ent, with IIS 6.0. I have three websites on this
server one runs a DotNetNuke site. How do I setup smtp on the server to
send email generated from my webforms on the websites to my mail server at
another location?
