i have a very strange behavior found in Windows 2003 IIS SMTP service
(CDOSYS)
I'm mailing html mails with the CDOSYS object from an ASP page.
Whenever there is a period (.) at position 174 of a line in a html
message, the mail server breaks the mail and sends out a very crippeled

'A' record of a domain rather than the MX.
SMTP protocol (rfc 2821) states that "If no MX records are found, but
an A RR is found, the A RR is treated as if it was associated with an

CDONTS and SMTP Duplicate emails sent

We need help on an issue of sending out duplicate emails.
We use “CDONTS’ to send mail out in an ASP web application and we use MS
Outlook 2003 as well. Sometime it sends duplicate mails. When it happens, the
two duplicated mails are sent very close, within 0.5 second. It does not
depend on the email addr ...

Hi;
I called PSS and got this fixed - but I don't know why this is
necessary.
I had to add a second domain to the SMTP server, one named
windward.net (name of our domain). I then set it to forward all mail
to smart host [123.123.123.123] (fake IP - showing that the [] is
needed).
