FTP client host mismatch

I am trying to use ftp from a windows host to another windows host. However,
when I invoked it, I found the target host using unix syntax for the ftp even
tho it is a windows server, which is why I kept getting syntax errors. What
is causing this and how can I fix?

when sending a message, OE says:
"Could not send the message; plese check the list of errors below..."
But then, no erros appear on the list...
Message is sent eventough it says that it could not send it...
Any ideas?
