Problem with converting Bold Unicode font to pdf

Hi,
The guy who wrote my web site inserts persits ASP PDF module. I write text
in Hindi, make it bold and save it as pdf. The font I am using is Ariel
Unicode MS. The result pdf doesn't display it as bold.
If I open word document, do the same thing and save it to pdf using pdf
creator, it works fine.

Running XP I have my command prompt font set to the True Type Lucida
console. Type
chcp 65001
clears and resizes the window, which is encouraging. But when I
attempt to display some simple kanji encoded in UTF-8 with
type filename (it contains the 3 kanji for 'nihongo')
