First version of directX to use \lib\x86 directory

My project accesses directX files in the \lib\x86 dir. I was wondering what
was the first version of directX to do this (I know old ones just put them in
\lib or \lib\64) so I know what the minimum version of directX to check for
during installation. I searched all over but I couldnt find the answer.

filter destructor

Anyone have any thoughts about why a filters class destructor doesn't get
called from an app, when it does from the GraphEdit?
The filter is being ->Released when finished .. in case anyone is wondering.

Well I have stumbled onto a strange problem.
I have an app that's using simple DX7 capabilities for image stretching. On
launch it checks for DirectX and then the caps for stretching. Launching it
in Windows, it runs fine.

Hi forum ppz,
Why did directdraw get made obsolete? And what is it's direct replacement?
The reason that I ask is, I want to know what the most optimised way of
drawing lines and curves using DirectX assemblies from a managed language.
I thought you used DirectDraw for this and other graphics objects ...

latest. What I found is Direct-X 9.0 but sometime I also see Managed
Direct-X. What I understand is that Managed means PACKAGED for language like
