problems with function "_tfindfirst()"
Wed, 10 May 2006 14:19:58 +0800
HI, ALL
I found a surprising problem when using function "_tfindfirst()" and
"_tfindnext()" to enumerate all the files in a specified directory, the code
is like below:
handle = _tfindfirst(searchdir,&filefind);
if (handle != -1)
{
do

linking problem in VC6
Wed, 3 May 2006 02:44:01 -0700
I want to use downloaded libfftw3-3.dll in my vc6 project.
I created libfftw3-3.lib file by:
lib /machine:i386 /def:libfftw3-3.def
and added libfftw3-3.lib to be linked to my project.
(
Or I hope, I have done so:
I added 'libfftw3-3.lib' to 'Object/library modules' in

Where is platform SDK?
Wed, 26 Apr 2006 10:00:02 -0700
I have upgraded my C++ project from Visual Studio.Net 2003 to VS2005 and
cannot compile it. The compiler cannot find many .h files (e.g. amvideo.h)
that used to be in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
2003\Vc7\PlatformSDK".
For some reason VS2005 does not contain Platform SDK. Is it replaced w ...

VS2005 provides C99-non-compliant "vsnprintf" function
Wed, 26 Apr 2006 07:08:02 -0700
Hi everyone,
I've run into a problem with the CRT in VS2005. It provides a "vsnprintf"
function -- i.e. the name is not prefixed with an underscore -- which did not
exist in previous versions of Visual Studio.
The documentation says this name is for ANSI compliance, but the function is
not compliant wi ...

broken given enough horsepower. In July 1998, John Gilmore, a computer privacy and civil liberties activist, and Paul Kocher, president of Cryptography Research in California, won $10,000 for designing a supercomputer that broke a 56-bit DES challenge cipher in record time, in their case 56 hours or less than three days. The EFF DES Cracker was built by a team of about a dozen computer researchers with funds from the Electronic Frontier Foundation. It took less than a year to build and cost less than $250,000. It tested keys at a rate of almost 100 billion per second (EFF 1998; Markoff 1998).

Tue, 28 Mar 2006 01:15:01 -0800
Hi,
In Visual C++ 2005 Express I use the stat function (if tried the _wstat32

some status about a file (for example if given file is a directory).
Now on some ordenary files, which has usual create/modification/access time
(between 2005 and 2006) the call of stat() results in a d ...
