IPC communication performance

I am working on applications that need to communicate big amounts of
data.
Assuming both processes reside on the same machine, I have tested
remoting over TCP and IPC and although I expected to find the IPC
faster I was surprised to find out it was actually slower.

Strange Remoting Problem with multiple network card!

Non-port IPC

I'm trying to find a remoting style that does not require a listening port
on the machine for the local server. In years past, I used DDE and COM for
this local IPC. The tcp and http probably wouldn't work but even the pipe
examples I can find use a local port. Does anyone know how I can accomplish
