installing msn messenger

I am trying to install msn meesenger and half way through installation it
bootstrap has caused an error nin BOOTSTRAP.EXE. Bootstrap will now close.
What does this mean and how do i install messenger?

No windows Sounds

For some reason my pc has no windows sounds its been so long i have just put
up with it but its realy getting to me there are no start up noises and no
sound in internet explorer. Sound plays in games and on windows media player

Just wondering how much pain is involved in taking an existing website
created with Dreamweaver (mostly just plain HTML + some javascript) then
converting each page to ASP.NET with Code-Behind for each page?

Miminised Files do not show on the Taskbar

When I mimimise an application the file used to be shown on the taskbar, now
it does not appear. I know it is still there because if I enter Task Manager
the file is shown as "running". What do I need to do to get the minimised
file displayed on the taskbar again ?
