WMP11 won't play CDs after uninstalling Sonic Decoder
Sat, 12 Dec 2009 09:00:19 -0800
I have XP Pro and when I uninstalled Roxio Creator 9, it also removed most
of the Sonic Cineplayer Decoder. Then, everytime I tried to play a song on a
CD, I was asked to replace the missing Sonic file. I did find Sonic
Cineplayer Decoder in Add/Remove Programs so I removed it. Now WM11 will not
play CD's a ...

WMP 12 - Ripping CD automatically creates new folder
Thu, 10 Dec 2009 09:26:01 -0800
Was that the case in prior versions? In the past I used Real PLayer to rip
CDs and it gave complete control over the process. I really only want a
single folder for all of my music -- that's what works best with my "ancient"
wireless media player that's hooked up to my home stereo. I don't see
anything in ...

Slow Media Player 12 in Windows 7
Wed, 9 Dec 2009 19:16:01 -0800
Hi.
In Windows 7, my Windows Media Player use a lot of time (and computer speed)
to "opdate the media library", from the internal and external (USB) hard
drive. Photos and Music are synconisized with the Media Player. I don't want
it to be synch. But if I remove the folders from the setup in Media Player

Strange noise
Thu, 3 Dec 2009 16:01:14 +1100
When I open a file with Media Player or any other player (Power DVD, Quick
Time etc) I get a brief but nasty noise as the track opens. On other PCs
this is not the case.
I "removed" MP11, but of course that merely rolled it back to MP9, which
does the same thing - no change.
However, the fact that it oc ...

We used Windows Media Player to go to a website where you can stream music.
The stream opens with Windows Media player and cycles through some ads every
15 minutes or so. One of the ads seems to cause a JavaScript error.

red line center of screen

In Windows Media Player, on Windows 7, I have a red line running down the
center of the screen.
I find some knowledge base articles about a similar problem in earlier
versions of WMP and Windows, but nothing that easily relates to my situation.
I recently replaced the videocard with an ATI HD 4670, but I a ...

Playing WAV Files Problems
Sat, 28 Nov 2009 14:35:19 -0500
Some of my older wav files that played ok before don't play any more in
Windows Media Player.
When I double click on the WAV file WMP opens but nothing happens. This
wasn't the case before.
The only WAV files that play are the newer ones I created using a DVD Audio
Ripping program.
Some WAV files that don't ...

Wed, 25 Nov 2009 12:57:38 -0000

via a Belkin all in one modem router. One machine is connected via Ethernet
cable, the other wirelessly.
I recently purchased a WD World Book 1TB NAS to hold all my music and
