Updating WMP 9 to WMP 10

I am running Windows 2000.
How can I update my WMP 9 to WMP 10?
I need to update to WMP 10 in order to download music on my little boy's MP3
player.
I can not udate my Windows 2000 to WIndows Vista until next year when I plan
on buying a new computer.
Any advice out there would be helpful.

Won't play mpg files

As subject says I can't play mpg files. A message comes up saying:
"Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For
additional assistance, click Web Help."
I can't get a solution from Web Help.
Anyone have any ideas how to get it to play these files?

I just installed Windows Media Player 11 afer running Windows Media
Player 9 on a XP Home SP3+ platform .
When running WMP9 I was able to log onto websites and view streaming
