I am sorting out music files, and I need a player where i can have a very
simple display : the list of filenames which i have enqueued in the file
list, and perhaps the classic player buttons at the top or at the bottom.

WMP lowers bitrate when syncing wma files

I have the options on the sync tab set to use highest quality (192k)
when syncing, but when I sync wma files it still downgrades then to
128k. Why? I don't want it to do that, and the option is set to 192k ...

How to play local multicast stream from VLC in WMP11

Hi
I have a local VLC multicast streaming a DVD to the LAN. With VLC I can
easily watch the stream from any other client.
However, I just cant manage WMP11 to connect to that stream. I even
tried as MMS and transcoded to WMV+WMA(ASF). No way.
Any idea how to show a stream with WMP11?

I want to start a *.wmv-file from Internet, but I get a error message from
the mediaplayer 11: "Mediaplayer cannot play the file ....

WMP 12 plugins for live streaming videos

In my music library, i can arrange the listing in almost anyway i like: By
artist, by album, by classification, by year, by composer, by genre - but not
BY TITLE.
You had that possibility in WMP 11 and back, and it's very useful - so why
has it been removed in 12?

Media Player won't run

As near as I can tell, I have WMP version 11.0.6002.18111 installed on my
Vista Home Premium system. I haven't used it in a while, so I'm not sure
when the problem arose, but whenever I try to play a file or even just open
the player, I'm informed it has stopped working with the following

Is there a way to get WMP11 to convert flac to either wma or mp3 when
syncing with a Windows smartphone? Currently it just copies the flac
files unchanged and WMP on the smartphone doesn't support that format
