WMP v11 will not stop after it is Closed

Recently, when playing a video clip or media stream, closing WMP does not
stop the player in Vista Ultimate. The WMP window closes but the audio keeps
playing. Task manager does not show WMP as running. The only way I can stop
the player is to open another video and press the stop button on WMP or shut
down ...

Adding files to library

empty from a folder on your external hard drive?
i do have my folders monitored but still can't load the library.

WMP 11 question?

With WMP 10, the playlist would mark the song link as 'used' once it
had played. In WMP 11, the song links do not expire once the song is
played. One doesn't know which have played or which have not yet
played. Is there a setting somewhere for the links to expire? ...

I have WMP 11 on XP pro SP3. For several video file types I've associated
with WMP (e.g. divx), whilst they apear in the library the length column is
empty and cannot be edited. When playing the file by double clicking it in

I just recently upgraded to Windows 7 which came with Media Player 12. In
earlier versions I was able to convert from one format to another like MP3
to WMA as an example. How do I do this in Media Player 12?

WMP 11 cannot start up from SU Menu or Prgms

Just installed WMP 11, and only can start it by clicking on a specific vid
file itself. Using XP, SP 3, IE 8.0. Click lower left Start Icon, and by
clicking on the Icon on left, nor clicking Programs and get to WMP, would
neither allow me to bring up just the WMP program.
