Don't laugh, but I accidentally shot a couple of short videos with my
digital photo camera while framing for a vertical picture format; that is

Codec -- Intel Music Coder 0x0401

I have an old AVI file that opens in WMP 11.0.6001.7000, but which won't play
audio. The video is fine. Using GSpot, I found that in order to play audio
the file requires a codec that isn't installed (Intel Music Coder 0x0401).
However, I can't find the codec on the Intel site. I anticipate it is now

Unable to play a DVD after re-formatting HDD

Hi,
I had to reformat my computer, reinsatlled Xp including SP3. Before the
format I could play my dvd's on WMP, but now all I get is that wmp cannot
find the right codecs. How do I solve this problem please

Running Windows Media Player 10 on Windows XP Pro SP2. I have a four-hour
.mpg of which there is action in the first 30 minutes and no action at all

WMP 11 jumps to "Now Playing" at startup

Recently my WMP installation has developed an unusual behavior. When I start
the program it momentarily starts in Library but after a split second jumps

Ok, just updated to the latest version of WMP and now every time I re-insert
a disc I've already copied from (Music CD) for one reason or another it
1) re-creates the original folder and subfolders
2) relocates the original files (regardless of where they are now on drive)
3) renames them back to the default ...

Hi there,
Okay, this is a pretty serious issue because I do a lot of work with video
on my computer. All of a sudden one day, after installing NOTHING new, my
computer stopped playing .avi files. The only program that will launch them
is the DivX player.
WMP says that it does not support the file format ...

I have the following suggestion for WMP preferences;
Tear down the "allow screen saver while playing" option per media type, i.e.
o Audio
o Video
o Both
o None; do not allow screen saver while playing
