Who had the stupid idea to force the "now playing" to be an independant

WMP12 Artist View Without Album Art

Hi,
I would like to be able to see the artists listed without all the album
graphics, but without the album content. In WMP11 it was a simple option
which allowed me to switch to the old-style WMP10 view. Does this no longer
exist in WMP12? ...

WMP12 and Libraries

I have just installed Win7 on my laptop. At home, I have a windows home
server on which I have most of my media. I have installed the WHS Power
Pack 3 beta.

Media player 11 lost all data

I have lost all data. All albums, art, videos, mp3, wma, are gone I have a
click here to add link that when folders are manually added does nothing and
recycles to no folders each time it (click here to add) is selected. I have
had problems with some songs vanishing from initial load (3-4 years ago) in
the past ...

Registry key for Options, Ripping Folder

I'm encountering this error when trying to rip any type of CD:
"Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn,
or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that
has been moved, renamed, or deleted."

Backing up Windows Media Player 12 library in Win 7

I'm wanting to backup my library in Windows Media Player 12 in Windows
7. I'm not wanting to back up the actual media files--just everything
WMP knows about them. Locations of songs, star ratings, etc.
Is this going to be a user folder, registry key(s), or both? Thanks for

Problems starting windows media player

I am having trouble starting my windows media player. It brings up the
following message:
"The file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6001.7007 where
11.0.6001.7000 was expected.
Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled."
When I go to update the player it says that ...

Removing WMP Cfg From Startup

I keep deleting a line that WMP puts in the Startup Tab of MsConfig but
every time I run WMP it places a line it puts the line back in:
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmpnscfg.exe
What setting(s) in the options do I change to prevent this?
