'My Media' icons in My Documents folder

The icons My Music, My Pictures and My Videos keep getting added to my My
Documents folder.
I like the special icons, but I don't keep any media locally and really
don't want them cluttering up the folder, but deleting them doesn't work as
they just get recreated on next start.
How can I get rid of them ...

Need codec to play mp4 in WMP 11

When I download a youtube musical mp4, my Windows Media Player tells
me it cannot play the file because I don't have the proper codec. I
did set mp4 in the File Types menu to no avail.
I know that some of these freebie codecs have tons of ad crap and
assorted garbage toolbars that come with them. Is there a ...

WMP12, 2.1 Million (78GB) art cache files

Recently I bought an SSD, and over the last weeks wondered where my free
space had gone.
turns out that WMP12 was the cause. Here's what i found.
The drive is 160GB (148GB actual size)
I opened a dosbox in admin mode, then typed "dir * /s" revealed that there
was 40GB freespace and 30 GB in use. 40+30 ...

media player 11 and MPEG-4

I downloaded ffdshow and the MatroskaSplitter to play MPEG-4 files and media
player will still not play. I have DivX installed on my computer. Should I
uninstall it? What am I doing wrong? System information says the ffdshow
codec is working OK.

WMP 11 refuses to not rip.

I want to be able to insert a CD and just have it play in WMP. No
matter how I set it, it will always go to the Rip tab and start
ripping the CD. I have everything unchecked in terms of ripping on
insert and autoplay on the device is set to play in WMP. Any ideas?

Playing AVI files encoded with Indeo5 from remote location

WMP remains in processes

When I try to start a WMV file (included in a mail or from hard disk) , WMP
doesn't start.
Starting task manager, I find WMP running.
I stop this process and after that , I can start the WMV file.
Anybody for help to solve this problem
