Media Center displays message that some COMPONENTS are MISSING

after IE8 upgrade Media Center 2005 opens, but the "components missing"
message diplays once the TV section is entered.
Restoring system corrects problem
use IE6 and XP SP2...SP3 was first thought to be prob so I restored SP2
only config that has Media Center functioning is NO IE8

after several tries at what might be the problem, Media Center displays
message that some components are missing after the IE8 install
returning to earlierversion of IE resolves problem
currently using IE6 cuz I felt IE7 sucked

Can't uninstall media extender on Windows 7

I got my PC Media Center and my Xbox360 media extender somehow out of
sync with each other. In other words the WMC's don't seem to see each other.
It seems the easiest thing for me to do, would be to uninstall the Media
Extender from the PC Media Center. Unfortunately when I follow the

So I have set Event logging with small memory dump in XP 64 bit, in the
System Properties/Startup & Recovery, in order to diagnose a BSOD in
win32k.sys, page_fault_in_nonpaged_area.
Unfortunately, when my PC blue screens, no event is written, and no minidump

I have a few dozen DVDs that I have ripped to an external hard drive... but
Media Center errors out when I try to play them... but does indeed play
ripped DVDs if they are located on the primary hard drive...

Problem with WMC for Win7 x64 -- live TV setup problem
