Last time I tried to install SP3 it gave me a Blue Screen of Death. I could
not get to my desktop, not even in Safe Mode. I finally, after a week of
research, got into DOS command and manually 'uninstalled' the SP3 and my
computer returned to about 98% normal mode.

I am on Windows Vista Ultimate. I had been using Hauppauge application.
Want to revert to Windows Media Center. Uninstalled all but the Hauppauge
driver for the USB TV appliance. Run Windows Media Center, go to set up.
If I try to run Tasks / Settings / TV / Guide, I immediately get a message

I have been infected w/ a Trojan & wonder if I can safely back up my
pictures, documents, music, & address list before I take my computer in to be
debugged. When I back up from Windows XP, do I need to open each individual
file in order to back it up? Is there a good chance these files will be

dvr-ms playback problems

To make a long story short, I've had some problems after updating to XP SP3.
Mainly, I'm having playback problems for anything recorded in a dvr-ms
format, including things recorded before the sp3 update.
The playback problem is not isolated to media center, but also windows media

I think I have a virus. This process is "locked".I can not stop it, I cannot
find _total.exe with "Search files and folders". I have AVG 8 Professional,
