HDMI audio for Media Center and Line Out for rest?

I need to send audio through HDMI to the TV for media center but through line
out to the computer speakers for everything else. How do I go about setting
this up?
For example, is there a way to automatically specify different audio outputs
for different programs?

Should Fresh XP-MCE Install Include MPEG-2 Decoder?

Windows media center playback is very choppy

When I start my computer and play something in Windows media center, it play
fine but then after a couple minutes, the video starts getting choppy, and
then it just gets worse minute by minute till it's unbearable to watch, but

Sony MPEG / TV card in Vista 64 ?

I've got a Sony " MPEG decoder card w/tv tuner " that runs in Vista 32 but
not g4. Is there any way to get it to run in a compatibility mode ?
And if not I'd be looking for some reccomendations for a card with a
connector to a front side AV in my current case has. Appreciat any thoughts
in a cheap one.

I was perplexed by windows\ehome\ehRec.exe, and could find no explanation of
its purpose, only correction for error in xp SP3. The instructions below
answered my questions and helped me understand its function and why it was
contacting a microsoft site in the background.

Media Center does not update in setup wizard

When I get to the point in the wizard after entering my zip code to download
the data, it just stalls on the first dot of the progress guage. I let it
run all night an never finished.
This ocurrs no matter what tuner card I use. I have tried a Pinnacle 800i

dvd driver error

got a new netbook OS windows XP. Freecom DVD writer does not work (USB). get
error message in device manager "device could not start (code 10). followed
the steps on microsoft support site, but no luck. unistalled device and
