Writing an ASF video stream from 8bit (greyscale) bmp's

Hi,
I am writing an ASF of Audio & video. The video part is composed of a series
of BMP. If the BMP's are in 16bit or higher there is no problem.
However if the BMP's are in 8bit i am getting an ASF which is not playable.
I am using the MSS2 codec for video.

I call endwriting,it return failed with error code NS_INVALID_DATA,the output

Hi all!
After running my application for hours with fine video at a good rate,
video continues streaming (the thread that receives the new frames
keeps on being called with new data) but
"return m_pInputPin->Receive(pSample)"
in Deliver() locks.

I got a third-party video overlay filter and want to plug-in to a WME via
SDK. It can be done easily by plugging-in as a transform plugin.
The drawback is that, the video overlay features can only be seen in
