After a few problems I went in to restore to a previous date and found that
none are working. Eash gives a message after going through the process that
it can not be restored to that date. Dang, I am having all kind of problems!

I first tried this in the windowsxp.general group and was referred to here.
When I click on a *.mp3 file in Windows Explorer QuickTime is started to
play it.
FIle associations as seen in Windows Explorer and Media Player show Media
Player for MP3. In QuickTime MP3 is not checked and MIME settings have MP3 ...

Yep! Go for the VLC Media Player. Look it up . It's FREE ! MS Media Player
sucks. One would think it can be used without having to bother with this
extra crap of getting Plug ins and the like. I was able to view Slide Shows
