Cannot complete download

Evening all,
I have just tried to Download the Windows Media Encoder Series 9 and the
frigging download screen is stuck there!
I have tried to remove the application - and for sure it tells me that it
cannot remove an application that is not fully downloaded!
Can I use the program? NO
It got stuck on ...

want to capture an Image(s) from the video, Is there any way in WME SDK to
do so?

Loopback IP

I too have the problem that Windows Media Encoder 9 series shows the loopback ip of 127.0.0.1 as the "internet URL" for my attempted broadcast. I know my proper public IP and have forwarded the necessary port. What I don't know how to do is to change the IP setting in WME so that people can connect to my feed.

Artifacts in Screen CODEC

I've found some random artifacts in Screen CODEC.
Screen CODEC is great for screen captures but text would become blurry or
something like double-vision in some of the screens.
I tried increasing the data rate and decrease the keyframe intervals to no
avail. I'm not sure under what situation would this happen ...

How to encode wmv with subtitle that can be turned on/off?

I have a video that I want to encode into wmv for playback on PC (this part
alone I know how), and I also want to add subtitle/caption that can be
turned on/off by the viewer.
How do I do that? What software do I author the subtitle in, and then how do

How to merge 2 or more asf files.?

Append file segments one after the other.
Eg: I have 2 asf files of 10 secs duration each and I want to make a single
file of 20 secs by merging files 1 and 2 .
Is there any way to do this..?? I'm working on VC++ 6.0 ..
