recently tried to update zune software, but forgot to unplug the device. Now
the software won't open. Tried uninstall, reinstall, nothing works. I keep
getting the same installation error: "A required component cannot be

Player does not appear in Windows Explorer

I recently got a new pre-owned system. When I connect my UMS flash player,
the device does not appear in Windows Explorer. The hardware is recognized,
as evidenced by the appearance of the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the
system tray.
