When will we get control of what decodes our mp3s?

This is so stupid that MS has once again changed the media foundation and the
only way to get control of codecs is 3rd party hacks. I still can't get
control of mp3s the crappy MS DMO decoder stays in control no matter what I
do.

WMP 11 Not responding

WMP suddenly, when inserting an audio CD will not come up, secondly if I
bring it up manually, it can read the CD, will give me the tracks in the
track pane under " now playing" , but will not play the CD. It also will not
allow me to rip CD content to the hard drive. Help.
This was working fine a week ago ...

Adding files to playlist

I have what I call a party playlist. It is pretty large and holds my
entire music collection minus offensive songs. I can no longer add music
to the list. I drop the files on the list and it appears to add, but is

delivery solution for live 24/7 content distribution for repeater stations

WMP 11 and DVD's

I'm sure this has been asked and answered before. WMP11 won't play a DVD. Under play, DVD/CD is grayed out. The NVIDIA decoder was loaded and the Microsoft Decoder tool indicated that it was the right program (but for WMP10--no info provided for WMP11.) How do I stop WMP adding files to library

I do not want WMP to search for or add file to its library, either when I
play them or for it to search for them.
iTunes is my default audio player.
I have gone into More Options and told it to Ignore most folders but I
cannot get an option to ignore the RIP folder in My Music ...

WMP12 Constant Problems

How to make WMP 11 not rip upon insertion.

I want to be able to insert a CD and just have it play in WMP. No
matter how I set it, it will always go to the Rip tab and start
ripping the CD. I have everything unchecked in terms of ripping on
insert and autoplay on the device is set to play in WMP. Any ideas?
