Cannot play music with Media Player

I recenly had a virus and had to remove and reinstall all of my music files
using an external hard drive. The music files are now formatted to play on
Music Match Jukebox, and although I changed the music file properties to be
compatible with Media Player, they still do not play with Media Player. Any

When playing a video file, regardless of the format, the video will not
play, even on ones it should play 'out of the box'. I can hear the sound fine

Music archiving and id3 tagging.

Hi. I want to do two things. 1. Archive cd's and records I have into .wav and
then .mp3 files while being able to properly tag them and 2. I create my own
music and want to properly tag them.
If there is a program out, I am interested and willing to pay for it. Is
there a way to manually do what I am asking ...

Windows Media 11 - Song Count

Okay, I used to have WMP 10. Love that version. In it, it would display the
number of songs listed individually in your library. Where is that feature or
similar feature in WMP 11? How can I find out within the library how many
songs I have? Thanks. ...

Cannot rip.

My Music is in My Shared Documents. WMP is telling me that I cannot rip
because I do not have acces to that file. I tried as suggested to change the
destination file where to save the soundtracks and still have the same issue.
Any advice on what is the problem?

wmp 11 shows incorrect art (in library view but not now playing/a.

o.s: xp pro (media center 2002)
problem: album art is often (but not always) wrong.
for example, when in library view, with album art displayed, the art is
sometimes wrong.
switching to 'now playing', the album art is correct.
checking the a.t. editor (pictures tab) shows the correct art for all songs
...

wmv vs avi

I can play videos with a .wmv extension but when I try to play a video with
an .avi extension, I get something that looks like a kaleidoscope. I'm
running XP Professional and Media 11.

WMP 12, Win 7 - Where's my WMP Toolbar?

I'm getting used to Windows 7. It seems that we've gotten a cleaner looking
interface at the cost of some convenience. I think I can get used to not
having quicklaunch buttons on the taskbar, but why in the world would you get
rid of the WMP toolbar/deskband??? I want this back.
