Default News Reader Check in News Reader Only Mode

Fix the check to see if it is the default news reader. Every time its
started with command line option /outnews or /newsonly it says its not the
default and should it be, regardless of whether Yes or No was pressed the
previous time. Also, Tools, Options reports "This application is NOT the

I like the simplicity of Outlook Express, however

love to have a Calendar to keep track of
appointments.
I'm a home user and need something simple. Like
30 day,
1 week and the ability to print it out for a
Daytimer or
refrigerator when needed.

I believe OE has no option for automatic language detection whilst
performing a spelling check?
If so, I'd suggest putting this option on the wish list.
I write a lot in Dutch and English and it is quite cumbersome to keep
changing the language setting in OE each time...

Very often (in fact, at least once a day) I want to print useful
information as displayed on my screen and just that. Very often
there is more than one page of irrelevant stuff so that just
printing all wastes paper. I would like to just print the first
page or else what is displayed. I know ...

Filter on the "Newsgroups:" line

I know OE can't do it (yet anyhow) but how hard can it be to filter on the
basis of the "Newsgroups:" header line? It already allows you to filter on
the basis of other lines, why not "Newsgroups:"? Could this be accomplished
by means of a plug-in?
